Once you select me as your Birth Doula…

  • Once you sign a contract with me, my services include 1 or 2 prenatal visits in your home. These visits give us time to get to know each other so that I can support you in an informed way.

At that time, we will go over your questions, birth plan, and other important details like packing your birth bag. I will provide you with evidence-based  handouts, and offer ways to help promote relaxation and positioning suggestions for labor. We will also discuss postpartum care and what to expect because that is very important!

  • Starting 2 weeks before your due date, I am officially on call for you. This means I keep my phone on me at all times and remain local to ensure I can respond quickly when labor begins. You’ll have a peace of mind knowing that I’m close by, ready to support you whenever you need me!

I provide early labor support through phone and text, offering guidance, reassurance, and reminders tailored to your birth plan. Once active labor begins, we’ll decide together the right time for me to join you at your birth. During labor, I assist with positioning, comfort techniques, and strategies to support baby’s descent, and encourage steady progress. I will help assist you with breathing techniques, apply counterpressure, offer aromatherapy, affirmations, and help create a calming atmosphere. I bring a variety of tools to help create a calming, beautiful birth space—such as tea lights, fairy lights, essential oil diffuser, etc. Most importantly, I’m there to support and empower both you and your partner.

Immediately after your baby is born, I will be with you for an hour to help assist with breastfeeding (if you choose to) or formula feeding, as well as questions with newborn care.

  • Within the first week, or week 2, after your baby arrives, I’ll visit you with a coffee, smoothie, or postpartum meal for a special postpartum check-in. During this time, we’ll reflect on your birth experience, talk through any questions or concerns about newborn care, and address any feeding challenges you may be facing. I’ll also share helpful postpartum resources and support tailored to your needs. I have many community resources and referral lists.
